The Imibala Trust, a registered South African NPO working with school-age children deeply affected by impoverished circumstances, offers programmes that make a substantial and measurable difference to the children’s present and future lives. All children, regardless of race or creed, are assisted through the Imibala Programmes.
It all begins with a school uniform. Through our school networks, children whose economic circumstances are so extreme that they do not even possess a uniform are identified and assessed for support from Imibala. The Trust has a network of generous individuals, from residents in Somerset West to travellers from abroad to businesses, who invest in the Sponsor-a-Child programmes that now include a school uniform, art, drama, pottery and music classes. The children’s academic development is also of interest to our investors and so, in the Imibala Computer Centre, attention is paid to their computer literacy, maths understanding and likely career paths after school.
The core of the Imibala Trust’s programme delivery is thanks to valuable and skilled Volunteers who believe in the children believing in themselves. Individual ability, circumstances and an opportunity to try and apply is what the Imibala children come to realize are the most important aspects of their time on the Imibala programmes. The growing personal stories of success and achievement are highlighted on this website.
